An endangered Eastern Box Turtle research project is a collaboration of local biologist, high school students and Clayton State University. More than 750 turtles are being radio monitored and DNA samplings being evaluated in one of Georgia’s (and possibly the Southeastern United States) largest Eastern Box Turtle research projects.
Recent completion of a Gold Scout turtle shelter project will hope to stabilize the population and add another variable into the research information.
Want to help continue the research and join the fun? Adopt-A-Turtle is a terrific way to help the program and be involved. Adoptees will be emailed periodic updates and be listed as an adoptee. This is a terrific way to engage your children or grandchildren in making a difference for protecting precious wildlife. Kids can even name their turtle. This is a creative birthday or special occasion gift.
Help continue the protection and research of the Eastern Box Turtle.
