Farm to Table 2015- Thank You!

Southern Conservation Trust’s  5th Annual Farm To Table Benefit was a huge success thanks to all our guests, sponsors, chefs, farms, donors and volunteers that made the evening so special. We were fortunate to have cool weather and the bad storms missed our beautiful venue. Our benefit provided an opportunity for everyone to have fun and learn about the partners and activities engaged with SCT. A special thank you to Brent and Tina Scarbrough for hosting us at Scarbrough Preserve, Brooks. Of course the feature of the evening was the local farms and creative chefs providing the tasty offerings. Thanks to our Chefs and our Farms and check them out below. Our entertainment was fabulous with a genre that delighted anyone’s preference. With much appreciation for the sharing of their talents: Celli, the genre-defying cello quartet that shatters any preconceived notions of what it means to be a cellist. Fayette Senior Services Dulcimer Group – Peach Pickers The Blue Grass band – Flint River Ramblers Lots of lively fun was had during the silent auction and an awesome live auction. Camp W.I.L.D- See you in 2016!

Registration now CLOSED! All campers will engage in activities related to Water, Insects, Leaves, and Dirt. Campers will enjoy exploring aquatic life in Line Creek, seeing plants and wildlife along the hiking trails, learning how the granite outcroppings emerged within the nature area, making arts and crafts, traditional camp activities along with  lots of nature fun within the 60 acre Line Creek Nature Area. There will also be special activities based on weekly themes and guest presenters whom will allow campers to learn about and meet wild animals up close. *Camp days are Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Campers may be signed in beginning at 8:30 am. Campers must be picked up by 1:30 pm. Tadpoles (ages 6 –  8 ) Bugs, birds and fishing will provide a wonderful introduction to our natural world for children eager to participate in activities geared for youngsters of this age group. Activities will excite camper senses. Touching creepy crawlers, hear local birds, and just getting in the dirt will provide great outdoor fun. Trailblazers (ages 9– 12) Campers will participate in more complex environmental field studies including aquatic and plant life in the pond and Line Creek.
