Accreditation Awarded by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission
Southern Conservation Trust proudly announces it has achieved land trust accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance.
“Southern Conservation Trust’s accredited status demonstrates our commitment to permanent land conservation that benefits the entire community,” says Pam Young, Executive Director. “Our land trust is a stronger organization today having gone through the rigorous accreditation program.”
The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs to ensure they meet those quality standards. “We are proud to display the accreditation seal but even more proud of the diligence our volunteer board put forth to achieve this prestigious goal,” shares Dr. Tami Morris, Board Chair. “This accomplishment adds to our ability to be valued partners with our community, landowners and donors.”
“Building community credibility and relevance is vital to our mission and achieving accreditation allows everyone to be confident that the Trust is committed to ensuring our quality of life keeps nature nearby for future generations,” said Pam Young.
