FAYETTEVILLE, GA – There is no place like Georgia; that’s why the Southern Conservation Trust (SCT) is focusing this event on conservation in our great state. The Southern Conservation Trust invites Georgia and its Southeastern community members to join them for their second annual Conserve Georgia Oyster Roast. The event will feature raffles, music, exciting games, Line Creek Brewing Co. beer, axe throwing from the Black Bear Axe Throwing Co., fresh oysters, crawfish, and a low country boil.
There will be many chances to win some amazing prizes, including a 2-night Blue Ridge vacation package, a Borgo Italia gift card basket, a Kraken Oyster Grip, a miniature Falcons helmet signed by a Falcons player, or a tour for 2 to the Distillery of Modern Art. The second annual Conserve Georgia Oyster Roast will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Scarbrough Pavilion in Brooks, Georgia, with a VIS (Very Important Shuckers) Happy Hour from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM for our VIS ticket holders.

This year, the 2nd Annual Conserve Georgia Oyster Roast will feature crawfish from one of Southern Conservation Trust’s very own property in Louisiana. In December 2020, a generous landowner donated Allen Pines farmland to SCT. This 145-acre gem is leased by a local company specializing in rice and crawfish production. They seasonally rotate the products, and the flooded field conditions provide excellent habitats for migratory birds and waterfowl. It’s an efficient and tasty use of this historic farmland!
Participants can purchase tickets for the second annual Conserve Georgia Oyster Roast at www.sctlandtrust.org/oyster-roast. Various ticket options are available, including discounts for our members and VIS (Very Important Shuckers) tickets that will include oysters, low-country boil, drinks during the main event, one hour of unlimited happy hour before the event with a specialty cocktail in the VIP tent, one round of complimentary axe throwing, and a special edition Conserve Georgia Koozie.
In our 30th year, we remain dedicated to elevating nature through exceptional land stewardship and providing outstanding environmental education in Fayette County and the Southeast. Proceeds from the event will go toward our initiatives to expand our conservation and education efforts. The Conserve Georgia Oyster Roast, presented by the Southern Conservation Trust, will highlight conservation, environmental education, and public nature preserve efforts in the state of Georgia and will feature a raffle focusing on local businesses and outdoor recreation. “In its second year, The Conserve Georgia Oyster Roast is set to be a great event,” said Katie Pace Quattlebaum, CEO & Executive Director of the Southern Conservation Trust. “All proceeds will go towards expanding environmental education, access to nature in Georgia and the Southeast, land, and wildlife conservation, and our Fayette Environmental Education Center.”
