What is the Plant Propagation Program?

The Plant Propagation Program at the Fayette Environmental Education Center is designed to grow native plants and expand our conservation efforts. With the help of a new Lord & Burnham Greenhouse, this program will produce plants for restoration projects, education initiatives, and community beautification.

Plant propagation is the process of growing plants from seeds, cuttings, and other methods. It’s a cost-effective and sustainable way to restore habitats, combat invasive species, and preserve native plant diversity—all while educating the community about conservation practices.

The Greenhouse: A Hub for Growth & Sustainability

The Lord & Burnham Greenhouse is essential for controlled growing conditions that allow us to cultivate healthy plants year-round. This facility, made possible by our generous donors on Giving Tuesday, will enable us to grow native species, support restoration projects, and reduce reliance on costly external suppliers.
